NADI Meeting on “The Emerging Security Architecture in Asia-Pacific, Assessment of Implication, and Recommendations for ASEAN”


The NADI Meeting on “The Emerging Security Architecture in Asia-Pacific, Assessment of Implication, and Recommendations for ASEAN” was held from 18 to 21 September 2024 in Siem Reap, Cambodia, organised by the General Department of Policy and Foreign Affairs (GDPFA), Ministry of National Defence, Cambodia. Lieutenant General Nem Sowathey, Deputy Director-General, GDPFA, and Director of Sena Techo Unit, Ministry of National Defence, Cambodia, chaired the Meeting.

The Meeting assessed the emerging security partnerships in the Asia-Pacific and their impacts on ASEAN Centrality and unity. Delegates also exchanged perspectives on how ASEAN can bolster its capacity and resilience in the field of cybersecurity and artificial intelligence through the ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting (ADMM) and ADMM-Plus mechanisms. The delegates provided recommendations, for the consideration of ASEAN and the ADMM, to address the challenges faced by ASEAN and the ADMM caused by the shifting geopolitical landscape and rapid advancements in digital technologies.
