SYED HUZAIFAH ALKAFF is a Associate Research Fellow at the Indonesia Programme at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. He graduated with a Masters in Strategic Studies from the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. He also holds a Bachelor Degree of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Heritage in Fiqh (Islamic Jurisprudence) and Usul Al-Fiqh (Principles of Jurisprudence) with minor in communication from the International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM).
He has experience working in the Risk and Compliance industry with Dow Jones Risk & Compliance (also known as Dow Jones Watchlist) for about 5 years as a research editor overseeing Middle Eastern region. Hence, he has an extensive understanding of that region in addition to have been living in Kuwait for six years. He obtained a scholarship from the Kuwaiti government to complete his high school education in Kuwait. He has been working with ICPVTR overseeing Middle East and North Africa desk for 4 years and his work focuses on analysing trends and patterns of extremist and terrorist entities in that region. He is fluent in three languages – Malay, English and Arabic.
