As regional security challenges become more complex, and our military force shrinks, Singapore must search for its niche capabilities in military technology. But next-frontier defence innovation is driven by more than breakthroughs in technology, wrote Asst Prof Michael Raska from RSIS, NTU. To succeed, Singapore’s defence and technology base must be able to incorporate creative ideas from diverse sources, and look at bolder, riskier innovations.
