The NADI Workshop on Regional Maritime Rules of Engagement
“The NADI Workshop on “Regional Maritime Rules of Engagement : Towards enhancing Regional harmony and Promoting Rules-Based Maritime Interaction” which was co-organised by the National Defence College of the Philippines and the Office of Strategic Studies and Strategy Management of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, was held at the Diamond Hotel Manila from 7 to 10 May 2014. All the NADI members attended the Workshop. The Workshop’s agenda covered (a) an exchange of views on the existing the regional mechanisms and institutional arrangements for maritime interactions and engagements in the seas of Southeast Asia, (b)exploration of scenarios of uncertainty and tension, (c) elements/principles in a future regional maritime rules of engagement, and (d) the way ahead for Track II to suggest to the ADMM track on how to take this process forward in the future . The Workshop have had an extensive and active exchanges of views among the NADI member delegates and they concluded with suggestions to move the process forward for the ADMM track.
