The NADI Workshop on “Peace, Conflict Management and Conflict Resolution”
The NADI Workshop on “Peace, Conflict Management and Conflict Resolution”, hosted by the Malaysian Institute of Defence and Security (MiDAS), was held at the Thistle Port Dickson Resort, Malaysia, from 18 to 20 August 2015. Lieutenant General Datuk Dr William R. Stevenson (Chief Executive, MiDAS) chaired the Workshop. Representatives from the NADI institutions of Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam attended the Workshop, with Myanmar represented by its Military Attaché. The Workshop focused on the views and experiences of conflict management and resolution among the ASEAN Member States, with the hope that such experiences can be referred to in times of crises. The delegates had a frank exchange of views following their presentations. The Workshop also concurred on the recommendations to enhance cooperation in conflict management and resolution, to be made to the ADMM Track for their consideration.

The Second NADI Retreat
The 2nd NADI Retreat was hosted by the Malaysian Institute of Defence and Security (MiDAS) on 21 August 2015 at the Thistle Port Dickson Resort, Malaysia. Lieutenant General Datuk Dr William R. Stevenson (Chief Executive, MiDAS), chaired the Retreat. Representatives from the NADI institutions of Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam attended the Retreat, with Myanmar represented by its Military Attaché. The delegations presented on their views of the regional security environment and expressed optimism that ASEAN and the ADMM would continue to make progress in regional cooperation and community building. The NADI Retreat also discussed the future NADI Two-Year Work Programme for 2016 and 2017. The Retreat concluded with the consideration and concurrence of the NADI Retreat Chairman’s Report.
