About the Speaker

Rodon Pedrason is a full-time lecturer at the Republic of Indonesia Defence University (RIDU). He previously served as Director General of Defence Strategy (Strahan) at the Indonesian Ministry of Defence (Kemhan) from 2020 to 2022 and Governor of the National Intelligence College (STIN) from 2016 to 2020.

Dr. Rodon earned a Master’s degree in Security Studies from the University of Hull, England, and a Doctorate in Political Science from Ruprecht-Karls Universität Heidelberg, Germany. He wrote a dissertation on ASEAN Defense Diplomacy. His expertise covers intelligence and strategic studies.

Dr. Rodon teaches across undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs at RIDU. He also serves as a adjunct lecturer at various universities such as  Brawijaya University Malang, the University of Indonesia, Bakrie University, and STIN. In recognition of his service to the nation, the Indonesian state has bestowed upon him numerous honours, including the SL. Kesetiaan VIII, XVI, XXIV, and XXXII years, the Bintang Kartika Eka Pakci Nararya, the Bintang Kartika Eka Pakci Pratama, the Bintang Yudha Dharma Nararya, and the Bintang Yudha Dharma Pratama.
