Abstract
Maritime migration and rescue operations are a growing challenge globally, where busy shipping lanes intersect with mixed migration flows. The effective coordination of states, Maritime Rescue Coordination Centres (MRCCs), the commercial shipping sector, and international organizations is essential to safeguard lives at sea. The Foundation for Humanitarian Action at Sea (FHAS) in partnership with the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS) convenes this dialogue between operational and policy stakeholders to improve humanitarian responses at sea, bringing together governments, MRCCs, UN agencies, the shipping industry, and NGOs to tackle pressing operational and legal challenges. This initiative aims to foster trust and pave the way for practical solutions.
