Biography

Daniel Balazs is a Research Fellow in the China Programme of the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He holds a Ph.D. in International Relations from NTU. His current research interests include international security, Chinese foreign policy, China-Russia relations, China-Central Asia relations; China and the Global South; China and multilateral organizations, such as BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation; China-India relations, especially the China-India border dispute; the Belt and Road Initiative; and China-EU relations. He has also contributed to a book chapter on China’s Belt and Road Initiative. He has contributed various Op-Ed articles that appeared on outlets such as The Diplomat, East Asia Forum, Foreign Policy, among others.
