Mr Douglas Tan has been appointed Senior Analyst with the National Security Studies Programme with effect from 4 May 2026.

Douglas holds a Master of Arts in History by research (2026), and a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in History with a minor in Philosophy and Religious Studies (2023) from the National University of Singapore. While studying for his Master of Arts, Douglas also worked as both a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant in the History Department at the National University of Singapore.

His research interests include Technological change and human adaptation; Value formulation in national policy; and Geopolitical power trends.
