    Biography

    Mr Kevin Chen is an Associate Research Fellow with the U.S. Programme at IDSS, RSIS. Kevin’s research interests include U.S. foreign and trade policy, infrastructure investments in Southeast Asia, and ASEAN’s response to great power competition. He is a regular Op-Ed contributor to platforms such as Channel NewsAsia and The Diplomat, and hosts an audio podcast called “Engaging the Eagle – Exploring U.S. Foreign Policy in Southeast Asia” as part of his role at the institute.

    Kevin graduated with a MSc (International Relations) from RSIS in 2021, and was awarded the Singapore Technologies Engineering Gold Medal as the most outstanding student in his programme. He graduated with High Distinction from the University of Virginia, where he was awarded a BA in History (Distinguished Majors Program) & Foreign Affairs in 2017. Prior to joining RSIS, he worked as a Research Analyst at the Singapore Institute of International Affairs and at the Asia Competitiveness Institute at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy.
