Ms Lam Teng Si is a Senior Analyst with the Social Cohesion Research Programme (SCRP) at RSIS, where she uses quantitative methods and data sources – including surveys and social media analytics – to examine public perceptions of intergroup relations and social cohesion. Her work also explores community-driven approaches to strengthening cohesion online, including moderation and fact-checking practices. She is part of the team that produced the second edition of the Southeast Asian Social Cohesion Radar, a study measuring the levels of social cohesion across ten ASEAN countries.
Before joining RSIS, Teng Si worked in a public policy research firm, where she designed and analysed questionnaires, time-use diaries and mixed-methods studies on issues such as youth wellbeing, financial literacy, and recycling behaviours and attitudes. She holds a Research Master’s in Social and Behavioural Sciences from Tilburg University and a Bachelor of Social Sciences (Sociology) from the National University of Singapore. Her earlier research focused on citizenship and immigration, including studies on national identity among youth athletes in Singapore and the effects of moral reframing on immigration attitudes in the Netherlands.
