Chris Leck is an Adjunct Senior Fellow with RSIS. He is currently serving as Group Chief Technology Officer at the Public Sector Science & Technology Policy & Plans Office (S&TPPO), a department of the Prime Minister’s Office, Singapore, and Senior Adviser, Innovation & Enterprise, at the Agency for Science, Technology & Research (A*STAR), Singapore. He was recognized in the Apolitical and World Economic Forum Global Future Council on Agile Governance’s 2021 Agile 50 List, as one of the world’s 50 most influential people navigating disruption.
Chris joined the Singapore Public Service in 2001. Prior to his current roles at S&TPPO and A*STAR, he was the Deputy Executive Director of the national space office, the Office for Space Technology & Industry. Other senior appointments he held in the past included Deputy Group Director of the Technology & Industry Development Group at the Land Transport Authority, Director for Futures & Transformation at the Ministry of Transport, and Director for Strategic & Political-Military Planning as well as Director for Bilateral Relations (Americas, Europe, Middle East and Africa) at the Ministry of Defence.
He graduated from the London School of Economics with a bachelor’s degree in government & economics. He also holds master’s degrees in political science and international law from Columbia University, the Australian National University and Tel Aviv University, and attended the general management programme at INSEAD.
