Mr Nicholas Lim Chye Khiang is a Senior Fellow with the Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies (IDSS).
He holds a MSc in Strategic Studies from RSIS, NTU. He retired from the Singapore Armed Forces with the rank of Colonel, having served more than 30 years in the SAF. He has extensive experience in the maritime and security domains. He graduated from the Indonesia senior staff college (SESKO TNI) and served as the Defence Attache in Jakarta from 2019-2022 where he oversaw the entire bilateral military relations between Singapore and Indonesia. His last posting was Director of Operations at the Singapore Maritime Crisis Centre where he reviewed long-term plans for maritime security.
