Mr Muhammad Garda Ramadhito is an Associate Research Fellow with the Indonesia Programme at RSIS, beginning in September 2025. He holds a Master of Arts in Quantitative Methods in the Social Sciences from Columbia University (2022) and a Bachelor of Arts in International and Global Studies from Middlebury College (2019). Prior to joining RSIS, Garda was a Data Science Consultant at Germonizer Pte Ltd and a Data Scientist with Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders)–USA, where he led analytical projects to optimise talent allocation and operations across MSF’s 65,000-strong global workforce. He also interned at the American Enterprise Institute and the Foundation for Defense of Democracies in Washington, D.C., contributing to research on Salafi-jihadism, counterterrorism, and conflict monitoring using proprietary data. His research interests include domestic political developments in Indonesia, political Islam, centralisation and decentralisation, civil-military relations, radicalism, and research methods, particularly quantitative analysis, mixed methods, and the political economy approach.
