    Biography

Henrick TSJENG is an Associate Research Fellow at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. His research interests include political and security relations between Southeast Asian countries with major powers like China and the United States, defence cooperation in ASEAN and the Asia Pacific, as well as the role of discourse power and information operations in international relations. He has written numerous op-eds in various commentary platforms and news outlets, and has also helped to organise events examining these topics. He is an active participant at the Track II Network of ASEAN Defence and Security Institutions (NADI), a group comprising think tanks from ASEAN countries that support the ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting.

Prior to RSIS, Henrick was a researcher at the Singapore Institute of International Affairs from 2011 to 2013, where he conducted research and analysis on topical issues such as ASEAN politics, U.S.-China matters and environmental concerns. Before joining the Singapore Institute of International Affairs, Mr Tsjeng took on various positions in the United States after graduating from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs with a Master in International Affairs in 2010, including brief stints at the National Committee on American Foreign Policy, the United Nations, and Carbon Credit Capital, a carbon finance and project advisory company.
