The S. T. Lee Distinguished Annual Lecture held on 2 Feb 2024 featured Lieutenant General (Ret) H. R. McMaster, who spoke on “Competing Visions for the Indo-Pacific and the World.” In his Lecture, he covered how Russia’s war on Ukraine, as well as the support Russia has received from other states, has clarified the nature of geopolitical competition. He also spoke on the importance of understanding both the history of how crucial challenges to international security developed and of the ideology, emotions and aspirations that drive the other.
