More than 100 students, staff and alumni came together on an evening in January for meaningful conversations, professional networking, and great food, at the RSIS Student-Staff-Alumni (SSA) Mixer 2026!
Organised by the RSIS Student Club and the RSIS Alumni Association Executive Committee, with support from the Graduate Programmes Office, the annual SSA Mixer provides a valuable platform for current students, staff, alumni, and industry professionals to engage one another in an informal setting. The get-together, which took place on 24 January, was graced by Ambassador Ong Keng Yong, Executive Deputy Chairman of RSIS, and Professor Kumar Ramakrishna, Dean of RSIS
This year’s mixer featured opportunities for participants to reconnect, build new connections, and exchange perspectives across different sectors and career stages, with overseas alumni members also in attendance. A key highlight of the programme was the special career panel on “Security, Intelligence and Risk Management”, featuring RSIS alumni panellists who are practitioners across their relevant fields:
- Sheldon Chen, Enterprise Security Intelligence Manager at Dyson
- Siti Suhaila, Regional Head of Security and Business Continuity at Maersk
- Rochelle Yong, Senior Manager, Risk & Safety at Dow Jones.
The discussion offered attendees practical insights into career pathways in these areas, including industry expectations, emerging opportunities, and professional experiences.
The strong turnout reflected sustained interest in closer engagement across the RSIS network, underscoring the value of such a platform bringing together RSIS’ academic, professional, and alumni communities. It also reinforced RSIS’ emphasis on mentorship, professional development, and continued exchange between current and former members of the school.
