RSIS launched the book Remembering S R Nathan: A Mentor for All Seasons to commemorate the life and achievements of Mr S R Nathan, the Sixth President of Singapore. Sir John Key, former Prime Minister of New Zealand, delivered an RSIS Distinguished Public Lecture titled “Asia: Its Challenges and Opportunities”. The 19th Asia Pacific Programme for Senior Military Officers (APPSMO) was held at Village Hotel Changi, touching on the topic of “International Politics in the Asia Pacific: Implications on the Security Policies and Defence Relations”. RSIS celebrated its 21st anniversary on 28 July 2017 to commemorate the school’s establishment on 30 July 1996.
