- Tracking Ethnic Integration Policy: Analysing Public Housing Patterns among Immigrant and Ethnic Groups in Singapore
This report examines Singapore’s Ethnic Integration Policy (EIP) to prevent ethnic enclaves in public housing. The EIP was introduced in 1989, and was later extended to include permanent resident households in 2010. Using administrative data from the EIP portal, the study analyses evolving spatial housing patterns among different racial and permanent resident groups from 2016 to 2025. It also considers the implications of these trends for fostering social cohesion in increasingly diverse neighbourhoods.
