Perspectives on Countering Extremism: Diversion and Disengagement
This volume seeks to contribute to the study of early upstream interventions in the field of radicalization and preventing/countering violent extremism (P/CVE). The contributors are in the main experts familiar with diversion and disengagement, practitioners who have designed interventions or scholars who have studied the effects of various interventions.There are of course numerous works within the burgeoning field of CVE which deal with deradicalization, disengagement and other modes of stemming (or reversing) radicalization at either the individual or the community level. Some explanation is therefore necessary to set this volume against the backdrop of work done in the field and to take stock of the original contributions.
