About Us
The International Centre for Political Violence and Terrorism Research (ICPVTR) is a policy-oriented research centre within RSIS, which conducts research and capacity-building programmes aimed at reducing the threat of politically motivated violence and mitigating its effects on the international system. The Centre integrates academic theory with practical knowledge, which is essential for a complete and comprehensive understanding of threats from politically-motivated violence and terrorism. ICPVTR is culturally and linguistically diverse, comprising researchers, academic specialists, religious scholars, and language experts.
Mission
To conduct policy-relevant research and capacity-building and outreach programmes aimed at reducing the threat of politically motivated violence and at mitigating its effects on the international system.
Vision
To be the leading centre in Asia reputed for optimally integrating academic theory with practical knowledge, which is essential for a complete and comprehensive understanding of threats from politically motivated violence and terrorism.
