Engaging the World
30 Jun 2026

In June 2026, RSIS welcomed a diverse range of visitors from around the world.

Ahead of the Shangri-La Dialogue, Executive Deputy Chairman of RSIS Ambassador Ong Keng Yong hosted Mr Robert Kupiecki, National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland, for discussions with RSIS experts on developments in Asia and Europe, US-China relations, and the intersection of research and policymaking.

RSIS welcomed delegations from the Information Office of China’s Ministry of National Defence and the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, where scholars exchanged perspectives on topics including strategic communications, maritime security, US regional policy and the evolving security landscape.

RSIS also continued to strengthen regional partnerships such as through a visit by Malaysia’s National Resilience College. Discussions on regional security, social resilience and energy security highlighted the value of sustained collaboration and shared learning in addressing common challenges.

Beyond engaging policymakers and researchers, RSIS also reached out to the next generation by welcoming students from Ngee Ann Polytechnic’s The Christieara Programme. Through discussions on Singapore’s security environment and the evolving role of the Singapore Armed Forces, students gained a broader appreciation of the many dimensions of national security and the importance of an informed and engaged citizenry.

These visits reflect RSIS’ commitment to fostering meaningful dialogue, strengthening partnerships and advancing greater understanding of the complex security challenges shaping our region and the world.
